The Effect of Ultrasonic Treatment on the Brass Properties

The article shows that ultrasonic processing is an effective way to relax the structure of highly deformed materials, including ultrafine-grained materials obtained by deformation methods, that leads to an increase in the proportion of large-angle grain boundaries, relaxation of nonequilibrium boundaries and triple grain joints, without leading to significant grain growth. At the same time, the relaxation effect of the structure depends on the amplitude of the ultrasound, i.e., there are some optimal stress amplitudes, at which it is maximal.
