This paper offers a review of an innovative technology for processing stainless steel wire by cryogenic drawing. It consists in the application of cryogenic cooling of the wire immediately after it exits a drawing die. The results of laboratory experiments clearly demonstrate that such treatment significantly improves the mechanical characteristics of the wire compared to traditional drawing without the cryogenic exposure of the material. The cryogenic treatment makes the material harder, which allows the wire to be used in harsher environments, while also affecting the microstructure of the metal by creating finer and more evenly distributed grains. Therefore, cryogenic drawing is a promising technology for processing stainless steel wire, resulting in the material with excellent mechanical properties. The application of this technology creates new opportunities for improving the quality and durability of products used in various industries.
