The article presents a review of methods for investigation the structure and properties of coal waste, including X-ray phase analysis, determination of granulometric composition, investigation of the structure and composition of coal waste particles using scanning electron microscopy and micro X-ray spectral analysis, investigation of the porous structure, thermographic analysis, mass spectrometry, determination of the content of natural radionuclides in them for compliance with radiation safety standards. To assess the feasibility of using coal waste in construction, their pozzolanic activity is determined, and strength tests are carried out on clinker samples obtained using coal waste.
