When metal is captured by rolls in the mill stand, torsional vibrations occur in its main line, as well as in the main lines of adjacent stands of a continuous group. In this case, the perturbation is transmitted through an elastic band from the capturing stand to the preceding stand, causing its main line to also perform damped torsional vibrations. This reduces the quality of the product and increases the force effect on the parts of the work stand. Therefore, this paper considers new approaches to solving problems of dynamic theory, including the theory of transient processes of continuous rolling broadband mills under non-stationary loading. Based on the solution of the wave equation using the method of function analysis, analytical dependences of damped torsional vibrations in an adjacent stand were obtained, depending on the time and the coordinates of the deformation zone.
