Anglicisms play a pivotal role in shaping media discourse in Kazakhstan, potentially influencing both the style and content of media texts. The communicative and pragmatic features of anglicisms in Kazakhstani news feeds, in addition, are deeply impacted by globalization. This research aims to analyze how anglicisms influence the perception and comprehension of information and explore their pragmatic functions in news texts. A corpus-based analysis was conducted on news texts from prominent Kazakhstani media sources. The sampling included texts from platforms such as NUR.KZ, Tengrinews, and Village, focusing on anglicisms used in 2023. Analytical methods included content analysis, discourse analysis, and comparative analysis to identify trends and linguistic characteristics. The study found key trends in the use of anglicisms, such as their role in naming new concepts lacking adequate analogues, ensuring semantic clarity, adhering to linguistic economy, and reflecting modernity and prestige. Additionally, anglicisms were found performing a stylistic role, enriching speech with diversity and emotional nuance while avoiding ambiguity. These findings provide valuable insights into the evolving relationship between global and local linguistic elements, offering a framework for understanding language change in multilingual media environments. Practically, this research highlights the importance of anglicisms in shaping media content and audience engagement in Kazakhstan. Future studies could explore the sociolinguistic attitudes toward anglicisms across different demographics or extend the analysis to other forms of media.
