Posthumanism is one of the leading trends in contemporary philosophical thought. The article examines posthumanism from the perspective of the philosophy of education and aims to shed light on the pedagogical innovations and solutions that posthumanism offers in the field of education and upbringing. The main method was conceptual analysis. Scientific articles from the international Web of Science database were studied over the past three years: from 2022–2024. A total of 77 articles were analyzed. The article reveals the concept of “posthumanism in education”, makes a comparison with the concepts of “humanism” and “transhumanism” in the field of education. The results of the study also present the main characteristics of posthumanism in relation to students, teachers and the content of education, that is, to the three components that are central to the idea of pedagogy. Having considered various aspects of posthumanistic ideas about education, the article notes that in practice, posthumanism actually does not offer many solutions. Most of them involve a critical deconstruction of liberal humanist assumptions, the role of Others in education, “decolonization of the curriculum,” etc. However, the practical implementation of posthumanist education theory is otherwise very vague. Critics note that the discourse is characterized by vague assumptions, and the rhetoric is often prescriptive and ambitious. Given that this complex phenomenon is still in its infancy, it is noted that many more “posthumanisms” are conceivable than currently exist, which opens up a huge field for further research.
