The paper presents a comprehensive thermodynamic and experimental analysis of the interaction of ammonium bisulfate (NH4HSO4) with oxides and sulfides of nonferrous metals (copper, nickel, and iron). Using the methods of thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential thermal analysis (DTA), and X-ray phase analysis (XFA), the stages of thermal decomposition of the formed compounds were studied, and intermediate and final reaction products were identified. The conditions for the formation of double salts such as (NH4)2Cu(SO4)2 are established, and the mechanism of their transformations upon heating is disclosed. The data obtained served as the basis for the substantiation of two technological directions: thermochemical opening of resistant sulfide concentrates and gas purification of coke-chemical production with the possibility of reagent regeneration. The developed solutions contribute to the implementation of environmentally friendly and resource-saving processes in the metallurgical and chemical industries. Copyright
