Digital Accessibility of Higher Education Websites: A Bibliometric Mapping of the Research Literature (2015-2024)

The purpose of this study is to analyse research literature on the digital accessibility of university websites from 2015 to 2024 by applying bibliometric analysis approach. Analysed 496 articles or review articles were extracted from Web of science database, utilising Bibliometric and VOSviewer software. The study first conducts a productivity analysis to assess the publication performance of authors, journals, institutions, and countries, identifying the most prolific researchers, influential journals, leading institutions, and prominent countries in this field. The study then investigates the social, intellectual, and conceptual structures of the research literature in the field to identify the most impactful research topics, collaborative networks among countries and authors. The findings provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of research on digital accessibility of university websites, highlighting key trends, major contributors, and potential areas for future investigation, contributing to a deeper understanding of the evolution and dynamics of this important research domain.
