The objective of this study is to present current and important scientific data regarding the traditional, dietary, phytochemical, and biological functions of Arctium tomentosum. The geographical spread was also examined. PubMed, Web of Science, and Science Direct were used as various search engines to conduct the thorough literature search. This study emphasized the significance of Arctium tomentosum, an edible herb with a wealth of therapeutic benefits and great nutritional value. Arctium tomentosums anticancer, hepatoprotective, antidiabetic, hypoglycemic, antioxidant, anti-microbial activities were demonstrated in preclinical studies, supporting the clinical significance of plant-derived bioactive compounds for the treatment of various diseases. In this regard, this review highlights fresh insight into the medicinal use, chemical composition, pharmacological properties, and safety profile of Arctium tomentosums to guide future works to thoroughly estimate their clinical value.
