THE WARRIOR’S GRAVE OF THE 5th CENTURY BC IN WESTERN KAZAKHSTAN (URYSAI-2, KURGAN 14)

This article introduces into scienti昀椀c discourse results of the excavations of kurgan 14 in the Urysai-2 burial ground. A horse skull and bronze items of horse harness were found under the kurgan whereas a sub-rectangular burial pit was recorded west of its center. The grave appears to have been subjected to robbery (?). The skeletons of four men arranged in a row and oriented to the south. Notably, the skulls of the buried individuals are recorded at the level of their shoulders; the bones and inventory are partially displaced and mixed. The grave is dated to the 昀椀rst half of the 5th century BC.
