CHANGE IN THE MICROSTRUCTURE AND PROPERTIES OF STEEL-ALUMINUM WIRE DURING “ECA-PRESSING - DRAWING” PROCESS

The change in the microstructure of a bimetallic steel-aluminum wire in the process of deformation by “ECA-pressing - drawing” method is studied. Deformation was carried out at room temperature in two passes. It is shown that both layers of bimetallic wire are processed unevenly. An aluminum shell with an initial grain size of 22 μm is worked through to an average of 5 μm. The steel core has a different grain size in the cross section with an initial grain size of 18 pm: in the surface layers of the core, the grain size is about 11 pm, in the axial zone - about 16 ¡am.
