The decay τ → 3πντ and axial-vector meson a1 in the NJL model

The branching fractions of τ ! π+π-π-ντ and τ ! π-0ντ are calculated within the chiral NJL model. Features of the axial-vector a1 meson which play an important role in describing the τ decays are discussed. Permissible values for the mass and width of the a1 meson are considered in accordance with the latest experiments. #c World Scientific Publishing Company.
