Nonlinear photonic oscillators are being investigated for decades but they still keep delivering disruptive technologies and innovative products based on their rich and complex dynamic features. Today, with the advent of ultrafast electronics, these revolutionary devices can be mimicked by solely using circuit elements to formulate a “photonics-without-photons” path. This study considers a fundamental unit cell of two coupled oscillators and identifies its resonant working regimes for arbitrary injected input amplitude and phase. An approximate dynamic model is developed to detect swiftly and reliably multistable modes that are vital in the design of integrated electronic systems with a variety of signal processing or information storage applications.
