The findings of cyclic voltammetry investigation of copper(II), zinc(II), tin(IV), selenium(IV) ions simultaneous electrochemical reduction on the molybdenum disk electrode from a tartaric acid-based electrolyte are provided. Cu2ZnSnSe4 (CZTSe) thin films were produced in the potentiostatic mode on Mo/glass substrates and their characteristics were studied. The prepared films have a rough surface and are formed from large particles 1–2 µm in size, which consist of small spherical particles with an average size of 200–500 nm. The phase composition and the band gap energy of the obtained thin films were investigated. It was shown that electrodeposited CZTSе thin film has photoactivity.
