The purpose of this article is to investigate the specifics of the implementation of the Vienna Convention and the Montreal Protocol on the Protection of the Ozone Layer in the legislation of various states, with the subsequent use of positive experience for the development of national legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The study revealed the specifics of the implementation of the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer in countries such as China, India, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine. However, the current environmental legislation of Kazakhstan is fragmented and does not fully pay due attention to the protection of the ozone layer.
