Symbols of time: toreutics objects from a female burial of the 13th-14th centuries near the village of Almaly (Southeastern Kazakhstan)

Among the extraordinary monuments of the late Middle Ages on the territory of Zhetysu is a burial discovered near the village of Almaly, in which a silver bowl, bronze objects – a tumar ornament, an openwork plate with the image of a dragon, a bracelet and some other objects were found. According to the composition of the inventory, the burial was determined to be female. These materials have already been previously published, this article provides a complete description of the finds, defines their attribution and cultural interpretation. Among the status items from the studied burial can be attributed a silver bowl and a bronze plate with the image of a dragon. These items had social symbols at the time in question. The peculiarities of reproducing the image of a dragon on the surface of the discovered plate are also of considerable interest.
