Teachers are increasingly incorporating new learning materials into their classes: mobile apps, VR, and other results of humanitys digital development. The aim of the study was to compare the impact of the traditional approach to teaching mathematics and the use of MalMath application on the academic performance of students in terms of conceptual and procedural knowledge, problem solving, and the level of their learning motivation. The participants were 72 students. A quasi-experimental study was conducted, which revealed that the participants of the experimental MalMath group were more academically successful (45.11) than the control group students (33.23), which was statistically significant. The results of the study confirmed the increased learning motivation when learning with the MalMath application (t-test was 5.396). The study results confirm the data of other scientific papers on the positive impact of MalMath application on the academic performance and motivation of students. Theoretical and practical implications of this study are based on the possibilities of further theoretical study and practical use of mobile applications in the process of learning mathematics, comparing the effectiveness of MalMath with other applications.
