In this paper, the possibilities of technologies of vibroplasma methods of hardening the surfaces of metal products for use in the real sector of the economy are investigated and the physical and mechanical properties and structural changes of the surface layer of these products are studied. It is shown that vibroplasma methods allow nanostructuring the surface layer of metal products with the introduction of a whole list of alloying elements of hard alloy materials into the structure of the surface layer of the product, carburising this layer and creating a hardened layer consisting of oxides, carbides, borides and nitrides. A nanostructured hardened layer appears with a fused base, mixed electrode material and products of hard alloy compounds. The elemental composition and microstructure of the sample surface are investigated. The microstructure of the base material of the coated samples corresponds to the structure of the reference sample. The microstructure of the reference sample corresponds to the microstructure of low-carbon (hypoeutectoid) steel after annealing. Granular ferrite-pearlite structure has a predominance of ferrite. In the process of vibroplasma treatment in the surface layer of the sample, a hardened zone of the surface layer with mixed elements of the base and filler material and a heat-affected zone are formed. This paper presents some results of studies of the physical and mechanical properties of 65G steel samples treated with electric spark and vibration-arc discharges. The microhardness of the material along the depth of the cross section of the samples was studied. For research, modern electronic and metallographic equipment was used. Copyright
