Global Expansion of Kazakhstani Businesses via Digital Platforms: The Context of Companies Participation in Alibaba

Digital ecosystems that combine different online services are becoming important for the digital economy. This study aims to analyse how the digital transformation of companies and access to the marketplace impact the countrys economic well-being through the growth of tax revenues. The research includes a comprehensive analysis of the stages of transition to international online platforms and the role of government agencies, such as QazTrade, in promoting trade development and facilitating access for local suppliers of goods and services. To achieve this, data was collected quantitatively, defining the concepts of e-commerce and online marketplaces and analyzing the trade performance of Kazakhstani companies before and after entering Alibaba.com. In addition, this study examines the impact of digital transformation on geographical expansion and trade volume growth, in particular through tax revenues; as well as the opportunities and challenges it poses for further research and development. In addition, this study attempts to provide an idea of the role of digital tools in increasing the competitiveness of local enterprises in Kazakhstan in the global wholesale market and outlines the key steps necessary for their successful integration into international e-commerce platforms.
