Transformation in Kazakhstans construction industry amidst digitalisation of the economy

The construction industry in Kazakhstan is undergoing significant changes due to the rapid digitalisation of the sector. This study aims to explore the impact of digital technologies, including the Internet of Things, building information modelling, and automation systems, on the productivity, quality, and competitiveness of Kazakhstans construction sector. Using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including a comparative analysis with global leaders in digital technologies, the study examines the current state of Kazakhstans construction industry and its potential for digital transformation. The findings reveal that while digital technologies have the potential to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality, challenges such as data security and regulatory adaptation remain. Kazakhstans digital transformation strategy for 2023-2029 provides a strategic roadmap for addressing these challenges and enhancing the countrys digital competitiveness, currently ranked 36th globally. The research concludes that the continued integration of digital technologies, supported by government policies and investments in cybersecurity, is critical for the construction sectors growth and global competitiveness. This study contributes to understanding how digital solutions can be leveraged to optimize the construction industrys performance in Kazakhstan and offers practical recommendations for stakeholders.
