This analysis traces research on the hijab as a Muslim identity for women in the context of immigration, globalization, and multiculturalism over the past 20 years across various countries. This interdisciplinary study applied bibliometric indicators (total number of authors and author identification) to evaluate bibliographic data in researching applicable developing trends with a sample of 303 articles that appeared during 2002–2022. These articles were obtained from Scopus, the largest database of interdisciplinary peer-reviewed literature. Bibliographic analysis was carried out using modern data analysis and visualization tools such as VosViewer and the biblioshiny package in R Studio. The main results indicate a rapid increase in relevant publications and highlight influential works, leading research institutions, and countries making the most contributions. An examination of keywords reveals five main thematic areas (clusters): internet and social media platforms; cultural landscape; gender studies; islamophobia and religiosity; and discrimination and women’s rights.
