Development of Technological Parameters for Production of Keratin Foaming Agent

The mode of hydrolysis of horns and hoofs has been developed. It has been detected that for their most efficient hydrolysis it is required to use urea. It has been established that the hydrolysis duration should be at least 240 min at 130°C. The optimum ratio of foaming agent components is as follows: water:organic raw stuff:urea = 45:25:2.5. The obtained foaming agent diluted by water to 2% had an expansion rate of 18 and water segregation of 0%, upon dilution to 1.5% the expansion rate was 15.5 and the water segregation was 9%. The influence of keratin foaming agent on the solidification of cement stone has been studied. It has been established that the foaming agent delays the structure strength development at the initial stage. The delay of cement hydration and solidification of cement stone are compensated already at the age of three days. It has been determined that consumption of foaming agent solution up to 0.4% of cement weight insignificantly influences on variation of setting time. It has been established that the maximum strength is achieved at the consumption of the foaming agent equaling 0.4% of binder weight.
