A set of prehistoric era material culture findings, which was received at the Ushtogai 1 campsite, as a result of survey works in the upper part of the Saryozen River in the summer of 2023, is being introduced into scientific discourse. Geographically, the Saryozen River is related to the Turgay trough connecting the West Siberian Plain with the northern part of the Turan Lowland, and also corresponds to the axial part of the Turgay trough and is an erosion-tectonic trough with a flat bottom. During the examination of the territory adjacent to Lake Taldyasha and the Taldykarasu River, the multi-temporal campsites of Ushtogai 1, Ushtogai 2, Ushtogai 3, Taldysay 2, as well as the settlement of Taldysay 1 were identified. The material from these monuments, within the limits of relative chronology, is dated from the Neolithic to the Early Iron Age. Special attention in the article is paid to a detailed description of the collection from the Ushtogai 1 campsite. The results of a technical and typological analysis of the stone industry and fragments of ceramics from the Makhanjar culture allowed us to conclude that the Ushtogai 1 campsite represents the Neolithic era most expressively and homogeneously. Judging by the collection material, the Taldysay 2 campsite also clearly represents the Neolithic. The natural and climatic specifics of the Turgay trough determined the use of an experimental method for collecting finds from the surface in the upper part of the Saryozen River. In this regard, the limits of five new archaeological sites were determined using GPS navigator, guided by the localization of archaeological objects on the surface. In addition, the Ushtogai Square and Sandyktau Line geoglyphs are located near the identified archaeological sites. Such territorial proximity of geoglyphs and newly discovered objects provided an opportunity for reflection, which is offered in the conclusion of the article.
