Employee satisfaction is fundamental in enabling banks to maintain a motivated workforce, achieve higher productivity, and deliver outstanding customer service within a highly competitive sector. Thus, this study offers a systematic synthesis of job satisfaction among bank employees by reviewing 137 articles published between 1990 and 2023, ultimately including 34 that met the stringent framework of Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) selection criteria from Scopus and Web of Science. The analysis shows that Turkey has produced the most research in this area, followed by the United Kingdom, Indonesia, the United States, and Pakistan. Key factors influencing job satisfaction include effective leadership, intrinsic motivation, reward systems, organizational commitment, work ethic, comprehensive human resource management (HRM) practices, and supportive working conditions. These determinants are not only critical for individual well-being but also for fostering a positive organizational climate. The findings stress the importance of evidence-based HRM strategies that prioritize these elements to build a thriving workforce and ensure long-term success for banks.
