Abstract: A comparison of two modern methods of strengthening soil-cutting parts is presented—vibratory arc deposition and plasma hardening. Plasma hardening allows you to increase the strength characteristics of a part by 3–3.5 times, makes it possible to carry out the process without the use of cooling media, and is also characterized by simplicity, low cost, maneuverability, small dimensions of technological equipment, and the possibility of automation and robotization of the technological process. Short-circuited arc surfacing has more modest indicators of increasing strength characteristics. This is a more labor-intensive and expensive process, but nevertheless can be successfully used to restore of worn parts.
