In the context of the post-colonial era, constructing a cultural identity through various means such as language, music, art, film, and other creative products is of importance. Within the music industry, music plays a significant role in enriching cultural identity. Our research delves into how creative professionals - by incorporating musical elements from traditional music such as improvisation, rhythm, and intonation - reassess cultural identity. We also investigate how the revival movement in traditional musical practices influences overall cultural identity from the perspective of musicians. Through case studies, we have identified methods of blending traditional music and their impact on shaping new trends. The findings of our study have allowed us to observe the process of traditional music components evolving and adapting in contemporary pop music. We have also identified key components of using traditional music to construct cultural identity within pop music and have recognized them as essential elements of a comprehensive and interconnected system, representing the fusion (organising sound and aesthetics) of two distinct realms of musical art.
