Simulation of meson–proton interactions is considered in the framework of a new phenomenological model (FANSY 2.0 QGSJ) developed on the basis of the traditional quark-gluon string model to simulate hadron interactions in a wide energy range. The model reproduces low-energy accelerator data on the generation of π mesons, ρ+ , 0, ω and f2 resonances, strange K∗ 0 , +, K¯ ∗ 0, K2∗0 and ϕ resonances, charmed D± , 0, Ds± and D¯ mesons, p, p¯ and Δ + + baryons, Λ and Λ ¯ hyperons in pion–proton and kaon–proton interactions. The relationship between the quark composition of the most energetic hadrons and the leading effect is discussed. A general agreement between simulated results and experimental data is shown.
