Modern learning has transformed education through the integration of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and data-driven methodologies. This study employs a dual-method approach, combining bibliometric analysis and a scoping review to examine research trends, thematic developments, and key contributions in modern learning. The study retrieved 86 documents from the Scopus database, of which 34 were selected based on predefined inclusion criteria. Bibliometric analysis was conducted using BiblioMagika® version 2.9.1 to assess publication trends, document profiling, source title distribution, highly cited works, and keyword occurrences. The scoping review provided a thematic synthesis, incorporating a word cloud visualization to highlight dominant research themes. The findings indicate a growing research focus on modern learning, with notable publication peaks in recent years. Keyword analysis reveals strong technological orientations, particularly in deep learning, e-learning, and higher education. Thematic analysis highlights the increasing reliance on adaptive learning systems, competency-based education, and AI-driven pedagogical models, while also identifying persistent challenges such as digital literacy gaps and ethical concerns in AI-based learning environments. This study offers a comprehensive overview of modern learning research, identifying critical trends and future research directions to enhance digital education methodologies and ensure equitable access to learning technologies.
