Optical Ceramics Synthesis in the Field of a Powerful Radiation Flux

On the example of YAG:Ce and MgF2:W materials, the advantages of synthesis of optical ceramics in the field of a powerful flux of high-energy electrons are shown. It has been established that ionization processes are dominant in the synthesis. It is assumed that the high efficiency of forming a new phase is due to reactions among short-lived radiolysis products at an electron flux power density exceeding the threshold value.
