The study aims to identify the structural features of perennial rice in various agro-ecological conditions of Kazakhstan. A literature review was carried out comprising all stages of growth and development of perennial rice from seed germination to grain setting, including the process of crop formation, biochemical composition of grains, as well as the influence of cultivation regimes on soil composition and microbial diversity. A new approach is being developed to increase crop yields and preserve the fertility of arable land by introducing perennial rice into Kazakhstans agro-industrial sector, combining the stability of perennial cultivation with the productivity of annual harvests. The purpose of the study was to develop agro-biological foundations for the cultivation of perennial rice in the conditions of Kazakhstan. This will allow Kazakh farmers to introduce new promising perennial rice cultivars into agricultural practice, as well as to increase the arable land productivity. The review covers quantitative and qualitative changes in the process of ontogenesis, anatomical and morphological structure and biochemical composition of straw and grain, as well as the formation and quality of the perennial rice crop in various agro-ecological conditions of Kazakhstan. The work is aimed at cultivating perennial rice, to develop a fundamentally new approach to increasing the productivity of arable land.
