This paper focuses on the isotopic effects of high-temperature corrosion of titanium beryllide (Be12Ti) when blowing samples with a steady flow of argon with impurities of water vapor of different isotopic composition (D2O, HDO and H2O). The object of study was industrially manufactured titanium beryllide produced by JSC “Ulba Metallurgical Plant” (Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan). The experiments were carried out using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and mass spectrometry methods on an experimental setup assembled on the basis of a TGA/DSC 3+ thermogravimetric analyzer combined with a ThermoStar QMS mass spectrometric gas analyzer. The experiments involved linear heating/cooling of samples in the temperature range from 100 °C to 1200 °C, with a sample heating and cooling rate of 10 and 50°C/min, respectively. As a result of the studies, new experimental data were obtained describing the processes of high-temperature corrosion of titanium beryllide during its interaction with water vapor of different isotopic composition. These data may be useful for the application of titanium beryllide in high-temperature conditions, as well as for the development of new materials and technologies resistant to corrosion under extreme conditions.
