Combinations of extensive purulent lesions of the mediastinum and abdominal wall in pediatric cardiac surgery are formidable in-fectious postoperative complications with high risk of mortality. In this report, we present negative pressure therapy as the most ef-fective modern method for the treatment of sternomediastinitis and abdominal wall abscess with simultaneous endocardial pacemaker implantation in a young child.
