This study aims to assess the impact of gamification and audio content on students’ attention and perception of educational materials in online learning environments at Kazakhstani universities. Using a combination of online surveys, experimental methods, and self-reports from 440 students, the study examines how these tools affect student engagement and academic performance. It was found that while students positively evaluated the adaptability to new learning conditions and found audio content effective in improving attention, gamification did not produce the same level of impact. Despite high ratings for gamification’s potential, they did not think it was as good in improving their understanding of the subject matter. The results indicate that although gamification and audio resources can enhance the educational process, they should only be used sparingly and may not completely replace in-person interactions.
