The article provides information on the clinical observations of the authors novel surgical technique for the treatment of inguinal hernia. The essence of the method is to narrow the enlarged deep ring by suturing the transverse fascia at the medial section of the deep inguinal ring using a “corrugation” technique under finger control, with a change in the order of the herniotomy technique. The results of treatment for 66 men with inguinal hernias aged 20 to 78 years, regardless of the type of hernia, were analyzed. In the early postoperative period, two (3%) patients developed infiltrates in the area of the postoperative wound, and one (1.5%) case of hernia recurrence was observed. Thus, the effectiveness of the described method of hernioplasty for optimizing the results of surgical treatment of inguinal hernias.
