Human health encompasses more than biological and physiological dimensions, extending into philosophical realms that shape our understanding of health and illness. This study presents a bibliometric analysis of the philosophical aspects of human health, focusing on the intersection of philosophy and health research. Utilizing data from the Scopus database, we analyzed 517 documents published between 2014 and 2024. The analysis reveals a growing scholarly interest in this interdisciplinary field, with a notable increase in publications and citations, particularly from 2019 to 2021, likely driven by global health crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The study identifies key journals, including Medical Humanities and the Journal of Medical Humanities, as central to the discourse. Major contributing institutions include Monash University and The University of Melbourne, highlighting their significant roles in advancing research. Influential authors such as Balalykin DA. and Savulescu J. are noted for their contributions. Geographical distribution shows a strong presence of research from the United States, the United Kingdom, and other countries, with significant international collaboration. Key terms such as “ethics,” “philosophy,” and “medical humanities” are prevalent, with emerging topics like “COVID-19” reflecting the impact of recent global health challenges. This study underscores the growing recognition of philosophical perspectives in health research and highlights the importance of continued interdisciplinary exploration to address complex health issues. Future research should focus on emerging topics and maintain engagement with evolving philosophical questions in health.
