M125-make ceramic brick based on low-grade clay (loess loam) was obtained using overburden pyrite copper-zinc ore at firing temperature 1000°C. Hematite, magnetite, anorthite, and glass phase appear on firing the ceramic material at temperature 950°C, cristobalite appears at 1000°C. Except for higher content of cristobalite, anorthite, and the glass phase, raising the firing temperature to 1050°C does not lead to special changes. Mullite, which imparts strength to ceramic materials, appears at firing temperature 1100°C.
