Two new species of the genus Protaphis Borner, 1952 are described from Kazakhstan. Protaphis inulicola sp. n. was found on the roots of Inula caspica in the Ili Valley, South-Eastern Kazakhstan. Protaphis kokshetavica sp. n. lives on the roots of Jurinea multiflora in the Akmola Region, Northern Kazakhstan. Keys to distinguishing of the new species from those congeners similar to them have been compiled.
