On the distribution of Carabus (Hemicarabus) tuberculosus Dejean, 1829 (Coleoptera: Carabidae) in Kazakhstan

New data on south-western boundary of the distribution of Carabus (Hemicarabus) tuberculosus Dejean, 1829 are given. This boundary is reaching the lower course of the Karatal River (Southern Cis-Balkhash region) and the northern slopes of the Transili Alatau Mountain Range in the vicinities of the Almaty City (Kazakhstan). The synonymy of the names C. tuberculosus Dejean, 1829 and C. strophium Fischer von Waldheim, 1842 is confirmed, since no reliable difference have been found between the south-western and Siberian populations of the species neither in habitual, nor in genital features. External characters and the structure of the male genitalia are illustrated for the first time for specimens from the southwestern populations of the species.
