The paper presents the findings of in-depth structured expert interviews conducted with the faculty of Birzeit University. Our research aims to identify the challenges that the University faces in delivering climate change education in a conflict setting. The study considers several questions, namely, how well-informed university faculty members are regarding the impacts of climate change. Moreover, it analyzes academic staff`s perceptions of the accessibility of climate change materials. Expert interview results demonstrate that while faculty members exhibit significant awareness of the impacts of climate change, their understanding of critical terminology related to climate change education and climate justice needs further enhancement. Interviewees emphasized that language is not the primary barrier to accessing information about climate change. The main challenges explaining the scarcity of climate education courses are the overall lack of recognition of climate change, insufficient funding, and a deficiency in training for university faculty, as well as disruptions to the educational process during periods of conflict escalation. The research concludes with faculty recommendations to promote climate education in higher education institutions in Palestine.
