Artificial intelligence (AI) is a field of computer science that focuses on creating intelligent computer systems, i.e. systems capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence – language comprehension, learning ability, reasoning, etc. Over the past decade, the application and impact of AI has expanded significantly across all medical disciplines, including obstetrics, operative gynecology, ultrasound examination, and assisted reproductive medicine. Using large datasets and advanced algorithms, these technologies can help improve diagnostics, risk assessment, and treatment efficacy. Objective. To summarize and analyze the literature on machine learning methods in medicine with a focus on obstetrics and gynecology over the past 5 years. This comprehensive review shows that AI has a promising future in overcoming diagnostic challenges, improving treatments and patient outcomes. Further research is needed to reduce algorithmic bias and enhance system adaptability to incorporate new knowledge in medicine as new technological models.
