Food culture is quite developed in Turkish communities. Turkish communities have not only considered the food as a nutritional state, but also as a reflection of social status. In the Book of Dede Korkut, one of the best reflections of Turkish culture, introduction of black sheep stew to the one who doesn’t have a child is an example of the relation between meal and status. Birth, marriage and after-death ceremonies have been held in Turkic communities. Some meals that are unique to some ceremonial days are cooked in the Kazakh society. For example, five-finger dinner is made specially for the incoming guest, and the five-finger dinner is served by a ritual, divided according to the status of the persons in the table, by their descendants and ages. A girls plate and a boy’s plate are prepared for marrying couples and some religious practices are applied in this meal ritual. A dinner ceremony is held to share the joys of family members who learn that the bride is pregnant. A sheep is butchered for the honor of newly birth-given woman by her family or spouse. The mother and the child are fed with the mutton and some religious practices are practiced at this dinner ceremony. In this study, it is evaluated by whom and how it is performed and how it is beneficial for mother and child. In the study, the food culture of the Kazakh people in the context of the hospitality culture, guests who come to the ceremony or home, guests at the table where they will be served, and who will serve them in the context of the ritual of the food ceremony are examined. These dishes reflect the place, beliefs and traditions of people in society when evaluated in culture. In addition, the meals prepared on these important days are the venues that bring people together, enable them to share common cultural values and enable them to be evaluated psycho-socially. In this study, based on the field studies conducted among the Kazakh people, the religious practices applied in the context of ceremonies and meals, the social perspective of the Kazakh people about the food culture, the practices of the culture and the practices they applied in the ceremonial days, and the reflection of the food culture on the hospitality tradition have been evaluated.
