Internationalisation contributes to the growth and profitability of firms. Many earlier studies have examined this relationship and the various studies that examined this relationship have found conflicting results. In addition, some studies have suggested that the relationship between internationalisation and performance is curvilinear. There has been some support regarding the curvilinear hypothesis. On the other hand, most of the earlier studies have tested the internationalisation-performance relationship on samples of US firms. This study has examined the relationship between internationalisation and performance on a sample of German firms. Results show that there is support for the linear effect between internationalisation and performance. Copyright
