The basic idea of the study is to evaluate the acoustic, vibration, physical-mechanical and damping properties of steels, and to produce steels with nanostructured coatings with enhanced damping properties, providing noise and vibration reduction. The study represented the excitation by mechanical shocks of a steel plate, each with a different level of damping. It has been determined that the sources of vibration damping in metallic-paper, encapsulated (MGB) steels MBG-1, MBG-2, MBG-3 with nanostructure coating in the amplitude-dependent region are elastic twinning, diffusion-free reversible phase transformation and magnetic-elastic energy dissipation. As a result of the studies conducted, new damping metallic materials based on iron have been developed.
