In recent years, digital technologies have had a significant impact on text production methods and the quality of audiovisual products. Among today’s popular media platforms, the animation industry stands out as a field that combines art, technology, and cultural transmission. Folkloric and religiously-themed texts constitute widely used and effective resources in terms of both animation art and the science of pedagogy. Through visual adaptations and retellings of oral and written folk narratives, broad audiences can gain awareness of cultural heritage, national consciousness, and national symbols. In this context, the aim of this article is to analyze the interaction between culture, religious texts, and the art of animation, and to interpret the manifestation and transformation of national memory in society by examining the tangible and intangible cultural elements in the example of the film Ahmet, produced by Kazakhstan’s Sak Studios. In this paper, the nature of digital adaptations based on oral and written culture is examined through content analysis of the mentioned animation text. The film Ahmet/Axmet, which focuses on the childhood of the great Turkish Sufi and spiritual figure Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, constitutes the central subject of this research in terms of its material and spiritual motifs. Another outcome of the study is the argument that collective unconscious imagery, conveyed through the art of animation, serves as a tool for strengthening cultural ties and fostering unity within the Turkic world. The aesthetic power of narratives transmitted through visual communication tools, and the cultural interaction and traditional values addressed in these visual contents, are of considerable importance in terms of literary criticism. The influence of animation as a medium of cultural transmission is discussed through textual analysis, asserting that such visual narratives optimize the formation of cognitive perception and visual text structures. It is argued in this textual analysis that animation, as a means of cultural transmission, optimizes the formation of cognitive perception and visual textual structures, and in the specific case of this film focusing on the spiritual legacy of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, contributes to the strengthening of Turkic-Islam identity.
