The review article discusses the monograph Intellectuals and Power in the Conflicts of Historical Turning Epochs (published by Aquilo Publishing House as part of the Images of History series, edited by Dr. Lorina Repina, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences) that was released in Moscow in 2023. This new monograph brings together scholars from different academic backgrounds. It continues the authors exploration of a wide range of topics in modern historical research. The article demonstrates how the authors team seeks to highlight specific aspects of the relationship between intellectuals and power in historical context through the prism of intellectual history. It focuses on significant aspects of this subject, drawing on the historical backdrop of Russia and European countries throughout different historical periods and at various levels of analysis. In conclusion, the importance of studying the relationship between intellectuals and power is emphasized. It is crucial to understand the role of intellectuals in generating ideas, as well as the treatment to cancelled intellectuals who disagree with the dominant narrative.
