In the article are discussed new ways of lithium-containing raw materials processing: spodumene, lepidolite and other types of solid minerals and methods of sorption and extraction of lithium from brines, as well as technologies for extracting useful components from electroplating pairs of lithium-bearing materials. Despite the satisfactory technological indicators of traditional methods of extracting lithium from raw materials, researchers consider it necessary to improve processing schemes in order to increase the yield of lithium in products and reduce economic costs to provide the market with cheap lithium products. The proposed new developments provide for the acceleration of the process of thermal decryption of spodumene, reduction of processing stages to reduce the technical and economic indicators of the process, effective purification of lithium solutions from impurities to increase the purity of the obtained lithium salts, selective sorption or extraction of lithium ions, as well as the extraction of lithium from spent lithium batteries in order to return them to economic circulation.
