The article shows that the development of the modern economic system is characterized by a constant increase in risks that limit and violate the economic stability of any state. At the same time, situations related to environmental, social and labor factors reflected in the concept of sustainable development, and not to classical factors of an economic nature, are becoming increasingly important for ensuring national economic security. Constant improvement of technologies and the establishment of more stringent environmental standards regulating economic processes are changing the institutional structure of the economy. The transition to a green economy is a source of threat to economic security, since it requires changes in existing economic relations. In the long term, countries that implement green economic models-those that switch to more resource-efficient technologies and introduce green innovations in human resource management, characterized by a more environmentally friendly organization of economic life-will gain a competitive advantage in the global market. The authors took into account in their analysis the indicators of the workforce and labor resources of the “green economy” of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the number of “green” jobs by region, the number of enterprises with environmental innovations, employment in industries related to environmental protection, the number of employees working in conditions of increased gas pollution and dustiness. A linear relationship has been identified between two factors of sustainability: the number of enterprises with environmental innovations and the number of innovations. Linear Pearson correlation coefficient is shown.
