This study presents a retrospective analysis of 200 case reports of children aged 0 to 18 years (mean age was 9 years) with COVID-19 who were admitted to the infectious disease center of Karaganda Regional Clinical Hospital from April 1, 2020, to June 1, 2021. Diagnosis verification was performed by polymerase chain reaction for SARS-CoV-2 RNA identification in nasopharyngeal swаbs. Mild COVID-19 was observed in 133 (66.5%) patients and moderate in 67 (33.5%); 130 (65%) patients had signs of pharyngitis, 7 (3.5%) had laryngitis, and 8 (4%) had bronchitis. Pneumonia was detected in 46 (23%) patients: minimal volume < 25% (CT 1). Diarrhea with enteritis syndrome was observed in 9 (4.5%) children with verified COVID-19. Laboratory signs of severe systemic inflammation were identified in one patient with multisystem inflammatory syndrome. There was a pronounced inflammatory change in blood, a decrease in hemoglobin levels, an increase in inflammatory markers (C-reactive protein, ferritin), signs of coagulopathy, an increase in the level of D-dimer, and signs of cardiac involvement.
