New Method for Materials Comminution Using Grinding Balls

Nowadays, mills using grinding balls (ball, vibrational, stirred mills, etc.) for materials comminution process are widely used. In this type of the mills, main problem of increase in product fineness relates to transferring the required collision energy to the particles by grinding balls. In order to solve this problem, new method for materials comminution by grinding balls has been proposed. The idea of the method is to transfer dual impact energy to the particles by counter collision of the grinding balls. High efficiency of the method has been confirmed by the results of theoretical and experimental studies. It has been proven that dual impact on the particles by counter grinding balls collision leads to increase in product fineness, and the efficiency of the dual impact on the particles fourfold higher in comparison with single impact on the particles in typical designs of the mill using grinding balls.
