Time-Dependent Description of Reactions with Weakly Bound 11Li and 11Be Nuclei

Abstract: The evolution of the probability density of outer weakly bound neutrons of 11Li and 11Be nuclei in collisions with 28Si and 48Ti nuclei is described on the basis of a numerical solution to the time-dependent Schrödinger equation. Probabilities for outer neutron stripping due to the processes of neutron transfer and nuclear breakup are determined. Calculations of the cross sections for the loss of two neutrons by the 11Li nucleus in the 11Li + 28Si reaction are close to experimental data.
